Madison visiting Oshie's 3 week old puppies!
Please call me (619)445-4440, or send me an email <shoobox@sbcglobal.net> if you would like telephones and email addresses for the people below. They would be happy to talk with you!
ANNOTATED LIST:
Fifth & Sixth Litters:
Ray Carson & Monica Majer, Vancouver, BC
Ray & Monica just bought a new home in Vancouver, and wanted a puppy to go with it! A week after move-in date, Shasta arrived sight unseen! (June 18, 2004) It was a big decision because they wanted to fly down to pick out their puppy, but couldn’t find a single round-trip flight around that date! They had to decide on a pup based on some pictures of two-week old puppies, and my recommendations! You’ll have to ask THEM how things are going!
Fourth Litter:
Joanne Stewart, Sacramento CA
Joanne is training Dexter to be a Service Dog. Someday he will be adopted by a disabled person to help in specialized ways. This is a beautiful story because Dexter was born with “Patent Ductus Arteriosis,” commonly known as having a “hole in the heart.” His life was saved by heart surgery that repaired his heart when he was only 8 weeks old! It was well worth the expense because now he’s around to perform a much-needed service… helping the disabled have better lives!
***The cardiologist feels that Dexter and Dodger (below) suffered heart problems due to overcrowded conditions in the mother’s uterus, rather than because of genetically inherited traits. Twelve puppies were definitely too many inside one womb!***
Roberta Klosiewicz, Tampa FL (Dodger)
Roberta and her family are very special. They adopted Dodger knowing he had a serious heart condition, Pulmonary Stenosis, that reduces the amount of oxygen circulated through the heart. The result is that as the dog grows, the heart has to supply oxygen to a larger body and the dog tends to faint upon exertion. This problem may require a surgery from which only 50% of dogs survive. The Klosiewicz family was willing to adopt Dodger knowing his unsure future!
Roberta has 3 young boys, the oldest of which has been Dodger’s handler throughout his training classes. They both just graduated… cap, diploma and all! Dodger’s first cardiologist predicted he would need surgery by 6 months of age. But he is 6 months old now and doing great! He just had another diagnostic ultrasound of his heart to evaluate his overall condition. So far, so good. We’re all keeping fingers crossed that no surgery will be required in the long run!
Third litter:
Bonnie & Jim Moffet (Deken) in Alpine, CA
Deken is our grandpup that lives closest to us in Alpine. He helps Bonnie with the horses, helps Jim care for the church grounds, and is the life of all their parties! He loves to swim in their pool! Deken thinks our house is "Doggie Daycare," so we get to puppysit him whenever the Moffets are away.
Kimmi and Alfred Taylor (Chikletz, Molly & Detroit) in Montana
The Taylors are breeders that currently live in Montana & have 3 of our grandpups! Their kennel name is “Hephzebah Kennel.”
Elaine & Manfred Krankle (Charlie) in Central CA
The Kranlkes live in Ojai CA & own a winery. They have twin boys and an active household. Their dog, Charlie, has obedience lessons from a trainer that has 2 Entles of her own! The Krankles just decided they need a female puppy from this next litter… one Entle for each son!
Lynn & William (son) Alcott (Diesel)
San Francisco Bay Area, CA
The Alcotts live in Los Altos, CA, and travel with Diesel to their son’s horse shows all over the western states. They say Diesel is the "Doggie Star" of the horse shows! They have two older dogs that are best friends with Diesel.
Frank & Jan Hayes (Tucker) in South Carolina
The Hayes live in So. Carolina where Frank is a land surveyor. Tucker gets to go along and “help” his Daddy survey land parcels!
Second Litter:
Brenda Hoffman (Buddy) in Alaska
The Hoffmans live in Ketchikan, Alaska. Buddy used to swim in the Pacific daily, but he recently developed joint problems. Brenda runs a daycare and has 5 older kids of her own. They recently adopted another pup from our 4th litter!
Gloria & Merlin Atkins (Bingo) in Michigan
The Atkins live on a large farm near Sous-Saint-Marie, Michigan, where they have problems with geese. Bingo's job is to chase away those pesky geese. He also loves to swim in the lake and help his Dad do farm chores!
First Litter:
Gordon & Christine Etter (Birken) near Salt Lake City, UT
The Etters live in Utah and adopted Birken when their kids were only 2-1/2 and 5 years old! They took him on a family river vacation as soon as they got him… lucky boy!! They recently had a third baby and say Birken has done great with all the children.
Larry & Karen Kozel (Alfie) near Chicago, IL
The Kozels live close to Chicago and have 3 teenage kids. Alfie gave them some heartacheat first. He somehow splintered a front leg when he was still a pup by running around too rambunctiously, and they had to keep him still for over two months! Entlies are busybodies, so this was no small task! Somehow they got through it and they even kept him!
Marylou Reiner (Buddy), near Chicago, IL
The Reiners also live close to Chicago and sometimes go to Entle gatherings. Buddy's original name was Arnold because he was twice as big as the others at birth! He’s still big, but Marylou swears he’s the most gorgeous boy in town!!!
